Yes, I know which it is..............

It's coloured................

I'll bet you want to know what colour it is as well!

It's red.

Its glued on the x-tal oven door.

Maybe if you are lucky: open up the receiver and put it upside down (heavy) maybe it drops out . It has happened a few times to a couple of my receivers.

This can also happen to the small glass window above the dial knob.

best regards

"(heavy)" I seem to remember my B40C weighed in at 112lbs or 50kilos in new money.

I wish I had never sold that receiver. If anyone comes across a B40C fitted with an R1155 two speed reduction drive, it was mine.

Quenix... thanks for the tip...nothing found..had a look a while back..only bits of Lego!

Alister...I'm thinking a block and tackle above the kitchen table! neat idea with the R 1155 drive, I stripped all the tuning drive and scale drive a couple of weeks agoon the B40 to try and address some backlash problems, the top gearbox was a bit of a pain to remove without snapping the ceramic TC shaft, cleaned all gears and advanced the split gears an extra tooth on the springs before refitting as beforhand the split gears were more or less lining up their teeth when engaged ie: hardly any anti backlash tension, backlash now reduced from 5 divisions to 1.5 divisions!
The B40d is permenantly on the kitchen table as is the fully cased AR88, I have no intention of moving either of them.
Thanks for the replies.
Cheers.

talking about weight: I do have 11 receivers B40/B41/62B murphy combination and a couple of Racal RA17L all in the loft so 11x50kgs+2x37 kgs ....... If you search for my name or subject on racal or b40 then you will come across my picture of a cabinet trying to withstand the gravity force.

best regards
