Re: Scottish Quickie
Great, thats sorted then. The 7th Aug, Glendoick. If folk want to get there between 11 & 12ish, thats fine. Past experience makes me think that popping into the Garden Centre Cafe for lunch is best about 12ish, before the rush.
If folk want to PM me with their mobile numbers, incase of any hitches on the day, I'll pass on mine. I'll try & park my car in a convenient spot. Its an old Mk1 Freelander, silver. Will give reg.no. in PM. Regards, David |

Re: Scottish Quickie
Folks, Just seen the BBC's Scottish weather forecast for this weekend. Rather wet. What are your views on putting it back to the next Sunday - the 14th? Surely we must get some decent summer weather soon.

Re: Scottish Quickie
Well Folks, Just had a newsy with Trevor & he's keen enough to brave the weather.
My car is packed & ready, so shall just tootle down this coming Sunday & hope the rain isn't too bad. There is a wee fly-over just north of Glendoick, so could always shelter under that. My Mobile no is 07815 499 859, and my old silver Freelander reg no is M44DFS. Hope to get to the carpark at Glendoick Cafe just after 11 or so, depending on the weather & traffic. Shall try & park somewhere noticable. Safe journey, David |

Re: Scottish Quickie
Hi David, just looked out my coat, if you let the weather up here stop you from doing something you will never get anything done. See you on Sunday. Norman

Re: Scottish Quickie
Folks, Will have to cancel. My apologies to Trevor, Norman, Al & Terry. Its not the weather. But, as I was telling Trevor - I've been battling an ear infection since last weekend and thanks to all the antibiotics - have now got the "squirts"!
If everything clears up by middle of next week, can try for the 14th or another suitable Sunday. I had really been looking forward to meeting up with folk, and doing a bit of wheeling & dealing at "next to nothing" prices for my heap of surplus test eq. Regards, David |

Re: Scottish Quickie
Folks, Looks my idea about a wee Scottish Quickie is a damp squib. With the emphasis on "Damp". ie. After a week of torrential rain, more rain is forecast for this coming weekend.
Guess our sympathies should go to Terry in Rosyth & Norman in Leven - according to the news, they've had the worst of the rain & flooding. Anyhow, all the more reason to look forward to meeting at Norman's in October. Fingers crossed for dry weather during the "Tatty Holiday" period. Regards, David ps. My post a couple of months back regarding anyone passing by up this way being welcome to filling his car's boot - is still valid. |

Re: Scottish Quickie
The weather has been nothing short of dreadful. Double the average rainfall for August already and we are not even half way through the month.
Hope to see you all soon though! regards Terry
