Was grate seeing everyone again. Managed make all my deliveries and collections. And just one radio followed me home (couldn't refuse it as it was free😊 and picked up a fantastic dual trace 20mhz oscilloscope for a bargain £10.
Can't wait for the next one, I may even have a stall and try clearing some junk.

Jay, there is no such thing as junk in our hobby! its surplus stock. If you bring junk, people will stop attending these swap meets.
I also had a good day yesterday, Thank you Mark and every one else involved. John. |

Re: BVWS Golborne Meet, April 2015
Good evening,
An excellent event. I managed to get rid of all the old radios and things that I had collected years ago and meet many people who are on this forum. Came back with plenty of peculier large transmitting and industrial valves and tubes to play with and a small cossor oscilloscope. Many thanks again for a great small get together event. Despite the late arrival, managed to pass on all the various mags. Thanks to MikeMushy for stepping in to relay a box to Ed Dinning who'd been and gone

Re: BVWS Golborne Meet, April 2015
An excellent do, as usual. Well done to Mark and staff.
Nice to meet many members that I only see at such places. I got rid of quite a few things courtesy of Dave Moll's B&B stall, picked up a couple of good books on cabinet refinishing. Howling gales! Just managed to set off homewards and the heavens opened - a veritable monsoon that Bear Grylls would love to erect a tent there somewhere. There were more valves than I've ever seen there, and many bargains to be had.

Re: BVWS Golborne Meet, April 2015
Talking of the B&B, thanks to all who helped to make it a success - especially for everyone ensuring that unsold items were reclaimed at the end of the day. For once, I didn't end up with more items on the table than I had brought with me, which was much appreciated as my storage space is very restricted at present. As far as the finances go, the stall made just over £45 for society/museum funds, but more importantly helped a number of items to find new homes.

Re: BVWS Golborne Meet, April 2015
Hi, just like to add my thanks to the organisers for a great meet. It was nice to put a face to the names I see on the board and to chat with so many people of the same interest.
I came away with books, valves, capacitors and a PYE p28! Finally, a big thank you to Chris for his display of 405 line TV's. Watching the original Doctor Who as I saw it when I was six years old, but I didn't hide behind the sofa this time! Regards, Ken. P.S. See you at the next one! |
