Re: Garrard SP25
The pawl (sp) has probably seized up due to dry grease, remove the platter and you will see an aluminium toothed cog. Look at the part of the large cog that is directly opposite the centre rim of the platter and check it is free to move. As you push the tone arm in the direction of the end of where you would imagine the record to end and you should see the small trip mech. slide over. If it has dried up further work will be needed to free up any dried grease. get back to us when you have ascertained whether it is dried grease or something else. The Mk11 must be reaching 50 years old, does the auto mech. work when you are starting a record?

Re: Garrard SP25
The Garrard SP25 Mark II has no "auto start" function. The Mark 3 does. It only has auto-return and switch off.

Re: Garrard SP25
If the cam is very stiff and won't turn, use a hair dryer to heat it up, use two flat blade screwdrivers to 'lift' the cam off the spigot. Do NOT rotate it, you could loosen the spigot's rivet.
