Replacement stylus for Garrard 209
I recently came across a Fisher Philharmonic from the 60s. The turntable inside is Garrard 209 and everything seems to be in working order except it’s missing its needle (see attached photo). Any idea what would be compatible?

Hi, That's a Sonotone 8T cartridge. But be aware that due to age , the rubber parts may have hardened and may crumble if disturbed,
Do you get any sound if you gently stroke the underside of the cartridge ? David. Last edited by teetoon; 6th Jan 2024 at 11:44 pm. |

Thank you, David. I took a closer look and it seems that only 3 of the 4 rubber bits are still intact.
And yes, I can hear sound from the speakers when touching the underside of the cartridge. |

David meant the ears the stylus sits on. They look fine.

That Sonotone 8T seems to be broken, the clasp/retainer piece is missing. You can replace it with a BSR SC12 or even a Chuo Denshi clone.
