Can anyone identify the radio??
Can anyone identify the radio in the picture attached.
The gentleman in the foreground is René Magritte (Belgian Surrealist artist), but I'd like to identify the radio in the background for a film producer who is making a documentary, as he would like to place a radio of the same make and model on set while filming. He initially thought it was a Philips A170 or 171 but I don't think its is, can any of you clever people out there help me? Regards |

Re: Can anyone identify the radio??
It certainly looks similar to the 170A or the 727A with that sloping dial, though the single bar across the speaker opening would indicate that it is neither of those.
I had a look around radiomuseum at the Belgian Philips sets - what about the 667A? The bar's in the right place. I wonder if Philips did a bakelite version. |

Re: Can anyone identify the radio??
Hi,
It probably is a Philips 667A as this was a model that was made at the Belgium factory according to Radiomuseum.org. Regards Trevor. http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/philips_667a_2.html |

Re: Can anyone identify the radio??
Thanks to both of you for helping out and identifying it as a 667A, I'll pass the information along in the hope he can source one for the documentary.
