Default RCA victor dial numbers.

Hi this is quest to find the best way of renewing the scale numbers on a RCA victor 66BX. It's all done and working but the numbers have faded so that they can hardly be seen. It does not have any letters. It's an almost half circular trough that is matt black and the numbers are gold ( I think.) I havnt measured them but about 1/8" thick and 1/2" tall.Unfortunately there is no way I can draw them, hands too shaky, I would rather leave it than spoil it, does anyone have any ideas please? It is covered by a plastic shield held on by a lot of small rivets but that is not a problem. There is no illumination.
Thank you gentlemen for your thoughts.

Cheers.
Geoff.

If you can take a cloth measuring tape and send me the measurements, I'll see what I can do over here.

Heh--funny you'd mention that--I have a 753 almost finished. I can do the cover in RCA for you if you'd like. PM me and I'll give you the details.

Hello Batterymaker 1.Sir I have measured the scale and it is as accurate as I can make it, the numbers being almost faded to nothing.
scale height , not including the lip for the clear plastic cover. is 2".

scale width 6 1/2".

numbers, left to right.
55, 60, 70, 80, 90, 110, 130, 150, 160.

Taking a '0' as an example it is 1mm thick line, 1mm space, 1mm thick line, 9/16" tall. Thus giving a total width of an elongated '0' as 3mm.Sorry to mix up Inches and mm but it was the most accurate way.

Below the center of each group of numbers is a dot, the edge of scale to dot and then dot to dot (starting from the left) is:-

3/4", 9/16", 3/4", 9/16", 7/16", 13/16", 5/8", 5/8", 1/2", 3/4" end of scale.

I hope that makes sense, I tried to photograph it but that didnt work.

The battery type according to the label on the case is a VSO19.

Many thanks and all the best.
Cheers.
Geoff.

Yep, VS019 is RCA's version of what's called a 753. I have one almost finished and I can dress it up in an RCA cover if you'd like.

Just PM me for details.
