Default Printed Letter Replacement

Hi All,

This is a similar thing to the previous thread about restoring painted lettering.

Does anyone know where small white rub on or sticky lettering can be bought from?
I am trying to swap a Grundig SVR4004 front panel to read in English rather than German. It is a spare front panel, so i can afford to play around a bit to get the end result that i want. I now have all the old lettering off but cannot seem to find small enough rub on letter sets any more, they used to be in all the art shops in any size, but it seems no more.
Does anyone have any ideas?

All the best,

Chris.

Chris
Print it using transparent waterslide transfer paper?
AFAIK Letraset that you mentioned is still available - have a Google.

Hi All,

Thanks for your ideas, i think that letraset do not go small enough, and i know that W H Smith don't do them, but Archer is looking like a possible.
I am trying to get rub or stick on really because i am not confident with the wet slide type ( i can remember all those Airfix kits that i made a mess of)
But thanks for the ideas chaps.

All the best,

Chris

If you don't like waterslide transfers, what about inkjet/laser printer self adhesive clear film?

But how would you print opaque white?

I often use printable OHP film for homebrew front panel overlays - a sheet over an ali panel, printed on the reverse for durability, works very well - but black (or colours) only!

The only printer that I know of capable of this is the OKI DP5000 series. This can use an opaque white "ink" on a plastic film tape, similar to correction tape.

There may be other printers using similar technology.
