Portadyne record player - identify the model?
I would also appreciate input if anyone has any idea what it could be worth.

Did you photograph it in the mirror? (The photos appear to be flipped)

Re: Portadyne record player - identify the model?
Can't help with the model number, sorry, but I can tell you that in their day, they were just about the cheapest record player on the market. If memory serves me right, in 1964 they were sold for £10.50. In my opinion the value now would be around the £20 - £30 mark if it's all working correctly. The original cartridge looks to have been replaced with a stereo-compatible version. That alone, again if in working order, could be worth that price on it's own, as they are unobtainable now.

That is so much easier to look at now, don't know why but it just made my brain do weird things (what's new then?) seeing the tonearm on the left like that.
Still not sure how one can define the stereo-compatible cartridge from the photos, but as said if it's in working order it's got to be worth £20-30. |

Maybe because it's white? Might mean something to the cognoscenti.

Re: Portadyne record player - identify the model?
The ususal give-away is that there appears to be no stylus turnover knob (typical of an old Mono cartridge) protruding out from the front of the tone arm.

Re: Portadyne record player - identify the model?
Cognoscenti I most assuredly am not, so that would explain it Maybe my eyes/laptop screen just aren't as sharp as some either. I can just about make out the aperture in the front where presumably the flip lever would have been, now Edward mentions it.
