Solartron CO546
Hi,
Just opened up the Solartron Signal generator I got at Norman's Scottish meet up in September. Most of the caps are U/S and have/are been/being changed. Please does anyone have a manual/circuit diagram for this model that they could let me have? Thanks Andy |

Re: Solartron CO546
Solartron CO546 and the similar OS101.
I attach the 1960 Solartron catalogue specification, and the key servicing details, circuit etc which I copied some 30 years ago. Not a brilliant copy, but better than nothing. The OS101 was earlier, about 1952, and is identical except that the top range is to 250khz, and there is no 75 ohm output, only the 600ohm. The attentuator is separate sub-assembly, type AT201, details also included. The thermistor is STC A24 (20k cold, 120ohm at 60mw). A possible replacement is GE R24 which may still be available. I have the full manual for the OS101, but it gives you nothing more. They are nice units, but somewhat large and bulky by today's standards! Very stable output. wme_bill |

Re: Solartron CO546
Hi wme_bill,
Thanks for replying to my post and supplying the information. As you say it is rather bulky and I do have smaller units that would do the same job. But I rather like it and will get it back in the land of the living. Interestingly all the electrolytics bar one (16uF) were totally U/S apart from a replacement RadioSpares item which had been fitted sometime in the past. Thanks again Andy |
