Default 8mm film stuff -- any interest?

Hello

I have had come to me through helping clear a house some 8mm film equipment which will be needing a new home so since I've seen the odd post about projectors etc I thought I'd ask if the might be any interest.

1) A Eumig "P8 Automatic" projector in what looks to be very good condition and complete -- haven't tried power.

2) A "Crown" film editor/viewer. Looks to be hardly used still in its cardboard box with instruction booklet.

Any idea of value etc. for these would be great.

Will

The projector could fetch 99p or £40 odd depending on the luck of the draw.

There seem to be plenty on offer too. Not much help really.

A pair (!) of film editors went for £4.99 recently, one was a Crown.

I don't think you'll retire on the proceeds!

Thanks

I wasn't looking to make a bomb on stuff, just clear some space. Will probably offer things here in due course.

They certainly look nice and presentable Will, shame that I live so far away the postage / freight would be rediculous

It's a shame that 8mm has so few collectors today. I remember the Eumig projectors; my mate had one; very expensive and the Rolls-Royce of home projectors.

As Herald says it's the luck of the draw on ebay; I think one reason they don't make much is the cost of carriage as they're quite heavy. Sadly editors and the films themselves make very little these days; although 16mm films seem to make reasonable prices.

I'm OK for this equipment; have a couple of 8mm projectors myself but there may be someone on here who wants to transfer 8mm to video who may have a use for them.

Mike.

I also have one of those projectors but had a look on ebay and they were not fetching much, if you just want it out of the way ebay is your best option as even if it only makes 99p at least it will be removed - unless they want it delivered of course.

No actual film I suppose.

The various national film archives would be interested if there was.

We get a lot of 8mm stuff through our doors for recycling, most get junked to be honest but I'ive a few pieces that I'ive kept over years but never really know what to do with them.

Hello

It doesn't look too hopeful for these then.

Does anyone know of an enthusiast group for amateur film related stuff where I try offering this. It's in equipment offered on here at the moment for a charity donation but getting no interest.

Bye
