Default 1st. Post by new member Rusty Gordini closed-why, please?

Having just read the post by Rusty Gordini about a Philips/GM car radio with unusual wavelengths, I was about to comment when I realized his post had been closed. May I politely ask why this has been done? As far as I can see the post is not in breach of any forum rules.

I am still waiting for someone to tell me why any thread is closed. Queries like that just get locked without any reasonable explanation about the benefits of so doing.

Their playground, their rules of course but I find it very frustrating and not something I see anywhere else.

Moderator error! Thread reopened.

Yes, when a post is closed the reason is not always obvious, certainly not to me.
I sure would like to see a very short note at closure as to why it was done.
There are more closures on this forum than any other I have been or are on.
