Default DANCALL cordless 8100/Pino.

Recent tidy up of my room/den /etc revealed an old DANCAL cordless, with battery and base station. However, battery is ancient, and I suspect at least one cell is defunct. However , I replaced the batteries and had to remove the plastic case to get them to fit in the battery compartment. Tagged batteries are cheap compared to specialist packs , but I've no idea now of polarity, as battery was removed from handset. I've got the original user guide, which is little help in this ,so if anyone has any data /photos on the battery, I'd be grateful.
Battery wise, DANCALL were ahead of the times as this is possibly of 1997 vintage, and manual informs me that phone will accept either NI CAD OR NIMH cells. It's also a useful upstairs cordless as it features a standby dry cell pack for use in mains fail situations
