MOSFET HT current limiter for AVO VCM ?
I wonder if anyone has added a solid-state (HT) current limiter to one of the VCM's?
Perhaps I was having a senior moment this evening when the valve I was testing (possibly with the wrong selector settings) started to drawing rapidly increasing anode current, produce a bright blue internal flash and then the relay tripped. Fortunately, there doesn't seem to be any damage, but the thought occurs that depending on the relay in 2018 may be "sub-optimal". I've just been looking at the HV psu circuit posted by Skywave https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...d.php?t=143178 (post#19) and I'm wondering about using a similar MOSFET limiter in the Avo. Any thoughts? Thanks B
