Re Marconi CR300 dial. Thanks for dial printout Lawrence.

This may be of help to someone not having a colour printer, only black. I printed the dial on Southworth parchment paper gold which I found to be the same colour as my dial. Went over the intermediate lines with a black pen then three fine coats of varnish. Job done, impossible to tell the difference. Now going to have a lay down just recorded both drives?

I've had a go at touching it up and it has come out well, I think (but, of course, I'm prejudiced!)

I've assumed that the original was black to the edges and that the paint has come off where it was fixed and will be invisible anyway.

Personally, I think it would look better with the text at the bottom and the Volume and Tuning legends removed but other might disagree.

The problem is not only identifying the exact font used (and hoping it is widely available) but also that the scan is twisted. I've improved on the original but can only adjust it in 1 degree intervals so you will notice it now tilts the other way (but not so much!)

Unless someone can suggest a way of producing text with a matching tilt, I think it would look terrible, although it might be possible to carefully adjust the position of each character to match the tilt!

I've previewed this picture and it looks OK but I do have the original which is a much bigger file that I could insert in a pdf if anybody is interested.

I'm working on this and it needed a completely new dial. The vertical line at the top appears on the original, presumably it's an alignment marker.

Attached is an image for the curved dial station name panel for a Murphy A50. Two versions are provided - one in MS Word 2007 in which the doc contains a 2-column table with just the centre vertical border line enabled. The left-hand column is blank. Also a version in pdf. Both documents have been sized to print correctly as actual size, but ensure in your printer set-up that no check-boxes such as "fit to page" have been left ticked.

When printing onto a transparency for application to a glass or plastic panel the dial image needs to be reverse printed or flipped. Flipping the image for reverse printing is easy when you know how! I did struggle for a bit. The easiest way is from printer set-up. For example I have a Canon TS5051 inkjet. To print in reverse from MS Word select print, printer properties, media type drop down needs to be changed from plain paper to other papers > T-shirt transfers. Can also be described as mirror image print. If you get stuck best Google your printer name with the question.

Wireless for the Blind (BWBF) Decal/Transfer

The attached image represents my attempt to recreate the BWBF decal/transfer most often seen (partially worn away) on red Roberts R505s. The PDF contains a high resolution printable version of the appropriate size. Hopefully this will be of use to one or two people other than me.

My thanks are due to John (stitch1) who, via the forum, originally provided the photo' upon which the reconstruction is largely based.

Wireless for the Blind (BWBF) Decal/Transfer - Previous Post #56

After posting I noticed that in the conversion to PDF format the decal had been clipped slightly at the right hand edge. I've increased the size of the white background to obviate the problem and a revised file is attached. The size of the decal itself remains unaltered. My apologies for not noticing the error before posting the file.

I recently sent the scale plate from my scrap meter to another forum member to replace his faded one. Alas it now seems to have got lost in the post. Luckily I had the forethought to do a high res scan of it before posting so all is not lost.

I also have the file as a .png so if anyone wants that PM me an email address and I will send it on.

B28/CR100 scales. I have just updated my pdf for these receivers and included an enlarged section that dealt with making a new roller scale.
However, I also saved a MS Word document which hopefully will preserve the definition better and make transfer to an art program such as PS Paint a lot easier.
