Has anyone got information on converting a 8722G trim phone to tone with a RotaTone kit ?

An easier way is to use a 'Dialgizmo' converter as it just plugs in and is automatically powered by the line. No need to modify the telephone.
You'll also need a converter with 'ring capacitor' to convert from RJ11 plug to BT socket but they are only just over £2 see item number 393200143905. The Dialgizmo will also work with the rotary dial telephones from New Zealand with a 'reverse' dial. If you are using the TRIMphone for VoIP - another option is to use one of the current Grandstream HandyTone / HT8XX series of Analogue Terminal Adapters which work with 'pulse dialling' or TMF tone dialling telephones (avoid ones badged 'Vonage' or 'ACN' as their firmware is locked to their networks. Those with the more recent fiirmware also work with the reverse NZ pulse dialling telephones after I got then to modify the firmware a few years ago. Again no need to modify the telephone but again you'll need 'ring capacitor' fitted converter. Yet again no need to rewire the telephone Ian Jolly CNet 0352 2979 |

Do you particularly want to use a Rotatone rather than an external plug-in unit (such as a Dialgizmo)?

I would suggest trying the instructions for fitting the Rotatone into the GPO 746 (see attached pdf). The 746 and the Trimphone are electrically similar; the main difference is the Trimphone has an electronic ringer on a separate circuit board instead of a mechanical bell.
