Hello Robin, The rubber leads to the CRT base were the only ones actually needing replacement. I think this was because the base had to be removed each time the RF chassis was lowered. That is why I made up and extension plug and socket as can be seen in a couple of the pictures. The remainder of the massive cableforms are still in a servicable condition. J.

I have a lot of crumbling rubber wiring to deal with in my V124C
I suppose it is down to storage conditions over the years, I have a couple of Bush sets with the same problem

I have been told that the formulation of the rubber can differ and very often, it is down to the plasticiser used which makes some rubber insulation rot and others not. I have also noticed that different colours can be affected differently.
PS. Please don't ask me what a plasticiser is .

I have noticed this too, particularly with the Murphy. Black has suffered the most, it has also gone rock hard, while the yellow leads are still pliable.

The mask on my Murphy is still in shape, albeit a bit cracked. I have seen others totally disintegrate in to a saggy black goo!

Post 63 contains everything we need to know on the subject. Further study is entirely optional, but is unlikely to help with the restoration.
