Hello Robin, The rubber leads to the CRT base were the only ones actually needing replacement. I think this was because the base had to be removed each time the RF chassis was lowered. That is why I made up and extension plug and socket as can be seen in a couple of the pictures. The remainder of the massive cableforms are still in a servicable condition. J.

I have been told that the formulation of the rubber can differ and very often, it is down to the plasticiser used which makes some rubber insulation rot and others not. I have also noticed that different colours can be affected differently.
PS. Please don't ask me what a plasticiser is . |

Post 63 contains everything we need to know on the subject. Further study is entirely optional, but is unlikely to help with the restoration.
