Default 'ULTRA' Record player. Wiring to speaker?

Hello All (another newbie) I recently acquired an 'Ultra' Record player that has five wires disconnected from the speaker 'transformer' Blk Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue. I presume the Ultra brand was used for a retail outlet and assume it is a well known make?

Sorry about the poor quality of pics but could anyone help me to identify what goes where on the 5 tags on the (label 'Goodmans Industries') speaker.

Thanks in advance.

I'm unable to access your pictures.

Do you have a model name or number?

ULTRA was a brand name acquired by THORN along with HMV, Marconiphone and Ferguson. We just need a good pic and/or model number so we can advise what goes where on the primary and secondary windings of the trasfomer. Be careful at least 2 of these wires will carry high voltages! Edward

Tantalising, but still not clear. More light perhaps?

Someone will probably recognise the model, though.

Not the best pics - this looks like a valve amplifier maybe using an ECL86. Please advise. Edward

Well based on this, 3 wires are needed for the output transformer secondary winding for the loudspeaker and the negative feedback loop. The other 2 wires are for the output transformer primary. But we cannot tell from these pics which are which. If you say where you live we might advise a person who can look at it for you. It's most unusual to find an output transfomer disconnected! Edward

It is possible that the transformer is faulty and someone cut the wires to replace it but never got around to it. The ECL86/grid coupling cap could be faulty and damaged it.
All guess work of course.

You either need to find help locally or you will need some hand tools and multimeter to go forward with this.

You could try posting in this section of the forum requesting repairs.

I know of two vintage radio restoration companies in Norwich, but not that one.

Can you give more details please? ie website, email address, location, phone number etc.

They were off as I think they came off when the turntable was removed. It apparently was working.

I do have tools and a multimeter so basically need a schematic?

I am more Lowestoft Gt Yarmouth way btw..

Just an update. not sure what the Ultra model number is but the HMV one is 2022, I sold one of these a little while ago so was able to look it up using my auction history, unfortunately the RTVS book does not show the transformer wiring only the circuit, its a standard ECL86 2 stage amp with negative feedback but it also has an external speaker socket complicating the wiring to and from the transformer. There is an ERT diagram available at the top of the page but I don't know if this shows any more detail perhaps someone else can confirm, if not we are looking are tracing the cables to see where they go and metering the transformer to see if it's failed. Mine had a failed transformer so I fitted an alternative pulled from a different scrap player with a UL84 output screwed to the side of the cabinet, worked rather well considering the miss match with no overheating issues and sounded good.
