GEC BT452 convertible (to UHF - 625) mono TV
Hello,
This is a long shot, but does anyone have the manufacturer's conversion instructions for this (Sobell designed but GEC badged) set, circa 1962? It was amongst the first TV sets to be produced after Sobell (Radio & Allied Industries) and GEC (UK) merged. This model was also available factory fitted with a dual standard line timebase and IF unit, when it had the model number BT452 DS. In addition, if a factory fitted UHF tuner was present, it then became a BT452 DS-T. The only 625 bit at the moment is the 405-625 capable LOPTx and a short tagstrip with some wiring to the LOPTx and line oscillator, over a slot where a 405-625 changeover slider switch can be mounted (for the 405-625 line timebase switching). I have the switch, a 405-625 IF amplifier unit and a UHF tuner (all removed from other sets over the years) but the exact conversion instructions for this model would be very helpful. Many thanks, Dazzlevision |
