Electric clock mechanism
Found this clock mechanism in a box of bits and wondering what it's from.
It has a buzzing alarm and a lever to start it spinning. |

Re: Electric clock mechanism
I don't recognise it all - does it work?

Re: Electric clock mechanism
Looks like a 1950’s-60’s Metamec movement to me.

Re: Electric clock mechanism
I suppose I could plug it in to an isolation transformer and see what happens, but after that I'll probably just offer it for free.

Re: Electric clock mechanism
I have a Metamec clock slightly older that needs fixing.
The motor runs but the drive to the hands is not there. It appears to be built onto 4 studs screwed into threaded bushes in a Bakelite shell. It will be a pain to get in and fix it. |

Re: Electric clock mechanism
Well, I powered it up with a quick test and an isolation transformer and the motor runs.
Can't say if the hands turn as there isn't any. I have no use for it, so I'll offer it free in the appropriate place. |
