I got this radio in a pretty bad shape. It had almost all it's coils dangling as the owner had tried to "adjust" them. The smoothing capacitor had squirted it's electrolyte somewhere and the dial mechanism was redone using nylon thread....

Luckily the case was in fairly good condition and all essential parts were there.

The radio had obviously been used as an entertainer during some paintjob as it had paint drops all over. It was quite tedious to scrape those away with a scallpel. There is still some of them left but one needs more than ordinary goggles to see them.

This radio has very cumbersome dial mechanism. I tried at least 5 different configurations before I got it working like it should. It was not that the route would have been complex but this radio is very critical on the lengths of the threads involved. As I was not able to find steel thread as it should have been I used kevlar fishing line which proved to be a very good substitute.

The radio was manufactured in Sweden - or so the back cover claims.

The AGA company is today known for it's gases for welding etc. Actually this radio was manufactured by a Finnish company Helvar Oy and possibly only the AgA padge was glued on place by Aga. This truth is revealed by looking inside the radio..... the company name is on the loudspeaker magnet.

Now, I know this radio is missing from this site's database. I would be more than pleased to see it there.
