Default Sinclair FTV battery has anyone made one ?

I've got a very nice working FTV1 that I use around the house with the help of my video sender my one problem being I'm tied to using the mains power supply I have an original battery for it and wondered if anyone had rebuilt a battery using something modern and rechargeable and presumably L-ion The thickness is the main problem.

How thick is the original battery? It may be possible to fit a couple of the thin semiflexible Li-ion rechargeables connected in series with a couple of Si diodes to bring the voltage down to around 6V inside the gutted old battery.

Something like a 303035 perhaps? (30*35*3mm 3.7V 350mAh)

In the unlikely event that you know anyone still using Polaroid cameras, their film battery has plenty of capacity remaining after use. The contacts have a different spacing, but that's not difficult to change.

Have you thought of using thin batteries that power tablet computers, our old friends aliexpress have loads, all 2mm or so thick.
Greg.

I've heard about using Polaroid battery packs before, but they only work for a few minutes.
