Default Greenweld

I used to find this company good for BA screws and nuts amongst other things. Have they stopped trading?

Seems they went bust a couple of decades ago but were bought by an outfit called Permex and continued trading, searching for "Greenweld permex" yields results.

I always us the aptly name company 'BA Bolts':

https://www.ba-bolts.co.uk/index.html

They sell a wide range of steel, stainless steel and brass nuts and bolts - not just BA, but other imperial and metric nuts and bolts.

Also, grub screws for knobs:

(Nice website to navigate to find what you need).

Hope that helps.

I've used BA Bolts a number of times, and they are first rate.

The other one that I use from time to time is https://www.accu.co.uk/ . They have a good range of stainless slotted cheesehead in 2, 4 and 6BA - even blackened.

And a nice range of UNC too. And Metric of course. Coarse and fine thread in multiple choice of materials and heads.

A bit weird; only yesterday I unearthed a small switch PCB that I got from Greenweld’s “junk shop” in Southampton sometime in the mid eighties; this was the only time I managed to visit - I think the junk bit was separate from the general components shop and was only open one day a week. Following on from this thread I find that the new outfit is based in Hoddesdon, where I grew up and lived for thirty years.
If only they had been there then?
Like most other erstwhile firms of that ilk there is precious little surplus stuff now but an interesting website nonetheless.
