Re: Mystery 1930s Philco name that Resistor ??
U647 diagram uses a 304 barreter, no resistors connected to it, why would there be? I'ts on the AC part, filaments ballast.
However there is a 400 ohm resistor in the tone network, R23. Not suggesting that this is the set, we have not even got a picture of the radio but Philco made lots of sets witH 304 barretters and many parts of the circuit will be common. |

To whoever asked if I'd got the model number correct yes I have and no I can't find any reference to it either the chassis seems to be loosely based on the v537

Re: Mystery 1930s Philco name that Resistor ??
Just thinking out aloud but this must be a rare old set if no-one can find anything on it on the net and no-one's popped up with 'I've got one of those'.

It is certainly worth recording the details in the radio museum..
If you send them to me I will setup a new model page. Mike |

Re: Mystery 1930s Philco name that Resistor ??
Which is in itself quite uncommon for Philco and also quite "British".
Has the OP revealed what the complete valve lineup is yet?

We've got beyond that stage. The OP is now trying to figure out why the recapped set doesn't work:-
