Ever Ready 5214 frame aerial
Hi.
I won't bore you with the long version of this story, but I need to re create the MW frame aerial for one of these sets, and require the dimensions of the woodwork to do so, (it's the one fixed to the rear cover). If anyone has one of these sets, and are able to supply a sketch or photo with the dimensions on it, would be most helpful. Thanks. Greg. |

Thanks Mick.
I did see that but I do need the measurements, I don't even have a point of reference either as I'm doing this as a favour for someone else and haven't got access to the set at the moment, also we don't have the original aerial. Greg. |

Re: Ever Ready 5214 frame aerial
I have a friend who's actually local to you, who has the exact model set. I mentioned this post to her, and she says she would be delighted to make it available for a visit, so you could measure-up and record its vital statistics.

Re: Ever Ready 5214 frame aerial
Hello Kalee.
I guess I have been rumbled! The frame is for her set, unless there are two people we both know who have one of these in Swaffham. It was a comedy of errors from the start when I promised to remake the frame some time ago. The original had come apart and was warped, I did try to make it from measurements, got it wrong and was then sidetracked before I could remake it, and have now lost the measurements and the original attempt. I just thought that it would be nice if I could get the correct dimensions, then the young lady could be presented with a finished article with no fitting or fettling required. These sets seem to be quite rare going by the responses here. Greg. |

There's a few threads, do a Forum search against "5214" and you'll see them, including one last year about this very set!

Re: Ever Ready 5214 frame aerial
I have just noticed this thread, I have a complete Ever ready 5214 with a lot of the rexine gone from the top and the case has been painted but it has a back and frame aerial.
Its yours if you want it for the cost of posting. Peter Edit, I mean the whole radio is yours if you want it. Last edited by Electronpusher0; 8th Apr 2021 at 8:10 am. |
