Default What has happened to all the AVO type valve holder panels?

Why is it that there is a surplus of control (meter, switches, transformers etc.) panels for the Type 1, two panel AVO valve tester and a dearth of the left hand, valve base and electrode switch panels?

I recently posted a wanted thread for a left hand panel, more in hope than anticipation, and was unsuccessful.
I looked out for such a panel at RWB on sunday, again without success but there were 2 more right hand, control panels for sale!
I did buy one of the right hand panels as a spare.

As noted in my wanted thread I have made up a panel with valve sockets and patch leads so am able to use my control panel but I am puzzled as to where all the left hand panels went.

That accounts for one but the question stands, why are there more control panels than socket panels?

Some have probably been used as spare parts for other AVO VCM's.

The socket panel could be adapted for use with a homebrew valve tester of modern design.

A non technical person disposing of a relative's estate may save the impressive items such as the AVO meter panel and dump the less impressive rusty box with old sockets.
