What has happened to all the AVO type valve holder panels?
Why is it that there is a surplus of control (meter, switches, transformers etc.) panels for the Type 1, two panel AVO valve tester and a dearth of the left hand, valve base and electrode switch panels?
I recently posted a wanted thread for a left hand panel, more in hope than anticipation, and was unsuccessful. I looked out for such a panel at RWB on sunday, again without success but there were 2 more right hand, control panels for sale! I did buy one of the right hand panels as a spare. As noted in my wanted thread I have made up a panel with valve sockets and patch leads so am able to use my control panel but I am puzzled as to where all the left hand panels went. Peter |

Re: What has happened to all the AVO type valve holder panels
That accounts for one but the question stands, why are there more control panels than socket panels?

Re: What has happened to all the AVO type valve holder panels
Some have probably been used as spare parts for other AVO VCM's.

Re: What has happened to all the AVO type valve holder panels
The socket panel could be adapted for use with a homebrew valve tester of modern design.
A non technical person disposing of a relative's estate may save the impressive items such as the AVO meter panel and dump the less impressive rusty box with old sockets. |
