Default Ferguson 3248 piano keys

Hi all,
I have got one of these recorders that I'm slowly getting back to a decent order, today the second piano key has broken since I've had it, luckily I have got a spares set.
The design of these keys seems to be a bit on the weak side I'm always careful when pressing them but they seem to be under a fair bit of pressure with the leverage used I have glued the broken button and will try to drill it and push steel pins into it to add strength.
I don't think my recorder is seized up at all just wondered if anyone else has had these problems.
Would a 3D printed one be strong enough?
Any thoughts.
Thanks in advance
All the best Rob
