Changing the volume pot for one with only about 600R end-float resistance has enabled tolerable minimum listening levels (this set is loud!
). An earth bond soldered to the inside of the IF valve screening skirt has fixed the IF instability. Just had a happy half hour listening to Laser Hot Hits on 48m band.
