Hi all, thanks for all the help, i have now fixed it
I found a new use for an earth clamp washer, as used at work.
I further stripped the pushbutton unit, enabling me to fit the drilled out clamp
washers & fit the springs & brass units back, then re-assembled the unit & fitted it to the tuner (see pics)
I can report complete success
i am now well on the way to completing my
restoration of this little tv, and hopefully it will appear as a success story very soon.
