yes, I was thinking of using a synchronized spinning color wheel on some glasses like the Vectrex 3D Imager
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCQ-L12g8c4 so it could do 3d or color but it would cut the effective frame rate. and the Raspberry pi should make a good media source.
