It would seem I am not quite done with this project yet, as it has developed a quirk that needs investigation.
After a few weeks of trouble free operation the picture has started to slowly move to the right as the set is on. It can easily be bought back into centre with the horizontal hold control, but when the set is cold it’s back to the start.
It takes about half an hour for a half inch black strip to appear on the left of the screen as the picture moves, if left for long enough it will eventually loose the horizontal lock, but normal service can easily be restored by adjusting the control.
Seems like something just does not like the heat (or cold).
