Not familiar with the exact model, but I would suspect originally it came with two sets of leads with identical plugs on the end, one for 12V and the other for mains, the original plug may have include some link or lug that operates a safety circuit to stop some one putting 230V up the 12V input, my advice would be hold on for the correct info.
