I assume you mean the Tek 535A? I've got one too, and it doesn't have a distributed Y amplifier. The delay line is between the Y amplifier and the plates, I think, so you can see the point that the timebase triggered from. There's a complicated procedure in the manual for twiddling all the inductors and capacitors in the delay line to get the trace to look right. I've never touched mine!
