Just a point on reformed capacitors, 12 hours seems to be slap bang in the middle of the "failure window" after the false confidence has kicked in. I've had that on a couple of tek scopes. Looks fine, then the capacitors starts to fail at around 10h and the bridge rectifier leaves the building.
