I'm intrigued by the engineering behind the oval fans on some of the instruments pictured- a variation on the vane pump theme, perhaps? I suspect that aspect ratio error is a far more likely explanation though.
Yes- a good job that it's a bit of a hike to Skegness for me, as there are quite a few tempting goodies there.
On a more sombre note, I always find wandering round this sort of auction a bit disheartening- all that lovely cutting-edge technology that not long ago cost a fortune and some of which will now certainly go for not much more than scrap value, a symptom of the flight of technological know-how and engineering ability to low labour-cost parts of the world. Such is progress.
