Default Re: AVO Multimeter survey

More old meters have knocked at the door of the Avo Retirement Home (Bewdley Branch - planning permission for an extension has been applied for) and been granted residence, as follows:

Model 8 Mk II s/n 104244-C-360, fully working
Model 8 Mk II s/n 4144-1064, siezed movement
Model 8 Mk III s/n 87206-1068, fully working (even had good batteries in it)
Model 7 Mk 1 s/n 46305-A-158, corroded movement

One quick question if I may - where can I find the serial number on a Model 40 with 'Admiralty Pattern 47A' on the instruction plate? There don't appear to be any numbers on the scale plate, so if the serial number was originally on a label on the side like my other Model 40, it's since long disappeared.
