It would appear that the term
rubbing alcohol can cover a range of different formulations, so it is worth confirming from the ingedients list that what you have
is just isopropyl alcohol, as the more common surgical spirit in the UK, according to the bottle I have in front of me, contains:
Ethanol 90%
Methanol 5%
Methyl Salicylate
Diethyl Phthalate
Castor Oil
... so I'm a little unsure how welcome a telephone dial would find these other ingredients, particularly the castor oil.
Dylon stain remover, on the other hand, claims to contain propan-2-ol (the
IUPAC name for isopropyl alcohol).
