I thought as it was a higher voltage it wouldn't do any harm to fire it up as was. Even though the heater chain required an extra 15 volts it seems to work ok. I may well return to it at some point but I have another set on the go, this will be a long term one as there is little to no information about it on this forum or on Paul's excellent DVD-ROM. It does have a certain charm to it, even though it was probably in the "cheap & cheerful" end of the radio market at the time. Dates found inside were from September 1947, I realise that is just an indicator rather than an absolute time but it's done well to survive this long, obviously cared for over the years.
