All the valves had to be replaced, the speaker and the usual wax caps. The tenant had taken an interest in the coils for the MW and I had to repair the break, it was like stitching the stitches as the wire was so fine. I had to re string the drive cord and it kept coming off, to begin with I thought it was caused by the funny angle of the pulley on the tuning cap to the tuning spindle but then I could see the cause it was a bit of rust on the pulley, the cord was being lifted by the rust. A little sanding down and a little siver paint cured the problem. My cabinet was rubbed down and varnished as it came from a shed, I didn't want any woodworm problems. It now works well. Oh the transformer was set at 230 volts so all valves were low emmision according to my valve tester. I reformed the HT electrolytic up to it's full voltage rating I have a high voltage power supply for doing that.
