I am very much of a like mind on this. If items are not priced, I tend to ignore them unless something of particular interest. I hate having to ask and then decline when the asking price is more than I am willing to pay.
With interesting unpriced high-end items that I'm pretty sure are beyond my budget, I usually preface an enquiry with something along the lines of "Purely as a matter of interest...".
