Thanks Howard. That's interesting, but still confusing.
I've just had a quick look inside my B212. The electrolytics all have a code which I assume is the manufacture date. This one has a variety including 1279, 0380, 0480 and 0580, implying that it was still a pile of components before May 1980 at the earliest. This fits in with it having the Tento name on it, but does nothing to clarify the relative production dates of the B212 and the B215. It seems illogical, but could they have overlapped for a couple of years or so?
