Type HRM with C cell holder & 4 x AA holder with a wire bridged across the vacant fourth receptacle. I gave both holders quite long fly leads so they could be removed easily for changing batteries. The white spacer pad looks like some sort of closed cell aerated polythene, chosen for stability.
