Default Indicator Type 248 (Part of Monitor 56)

Does anyone know anything about the Monitor 56 system? I have an Indicator Type 248, 10QB/6325 and a Power Unit Type 675, 10KB/6295.
The Indicator is dated internally 1950 and the Power Unit 1954. The power unit is dual supply, 80V (aircraft) or 230V (ground station ?).
They are obviously ex-RAF but what aircraft were they fitted in and what system was the Monitor 56 used with? I presume a Radar or Guidance system.
