They were fitted in the 2004-built school I worked in, though never used.
Presumably on the grounds of economy, a brief sounding of the ear-splitting fire alarm klaxons initially indicated lesson, break, lunch and registration times. Traditional bells were retrofitted during the first half-term holiday.
