Yes but why bother going to the trouble of coding a PIC chip when the original design uses an off the shelf part that is more than capable of doing the job.

That is not to reject your answer, and yes it could be done that way.

I have a feeling this is going to come down to Trio's people not being able to produce a manual that matches the design.

If my theory is correct then I will have to find a way of producing the truth table on the forum because it will not accept one produced in MS Word and all becomes clear when it's laid out as a proper table
