Re: NVCF Warwickshire, Sun 13th May
It's the first time I've been, and it was a very enjoyable day out. I arrived for the 9am opening and did a quick scan over most of the stalls. By the time I returned to the items I was interested in, some had already sold! Nevertheless I'm pleased with what I bought. Post what you bought, and why. Here's what I brought home, should keep me busy for many months!
Phillips N1500 VCR. I'm interested in early video formats. This will fit nicely with the Sony u-matic and the Panasonic NV870 in my collection that both work well. The N1500 will need quite a clean out before I even attempt to run it as there seems to be lots of white mouldy stuff inside, and the head doesn't rotate smoothly when I push it around using a finger. I like the Phillips 1970's style to the machine.
Trio KA-2000A amplifier for no other reason that I just like early 1970's Japanese HiFi.
Leak Trough Line Stereo FM Tuner. Mid 1960's? The intention was to buy 'something' with valves as I've never had any valve equipment before. Will make a nice companion for the Trio.
And finally a Radiomobile in-car 8-track player. To complete my collection of tape formats, I needed an example of an 8-track. I will finally be able to play some 8 track cartridges I bough from e-bay a while back.
