Great sets, had a CNP-192 between '74-80. It never went wrong...
at all.

Working at a Hitachi dealer at the time, I did have the cap you've replaced fail a few times too. Black lines across the picture that flicker, worse on the high UHF ch's did turn out to be the tuner...

The field output transistor used to fail because of the small decoupler electrolytic caps in the output stage.

Towards the end of the sets life, we did have a few 'no colour' issues, again it was small caps in the decoder, never aligned one though!
