Default Re: And the next one! a GEC BT2147

Hi Matt,

I'm glad the GEC turned out ok in the end. The tough ones can be a rignt pain, but then again, more rewarding in the end.
My first TV22 had a lump missing from the front of the case and a duff lopty. I asked Gerry about it and he said it was only good for display. That didn't put me off, but in fact it encouraged me to get into rewinding transformers... It ended up being a very good set, but it took me an age to get there.

Btw, I'm glad to see that the mask was salvaged. The one in my set looked ok for years, but a while back I noticed it was starting to sag. I had been using some turps based cabinet cleaner in the same room and I did wonder if that was what had set it off. I'm not sure how I will tackle it, maybe just turning it upside down will help it?

Cheers
Andy
