boxdoctor, you are right...When disconnected the radio went automatically to battery power. The Braun idea is a good one and I have been having a look...but difficult online to gauge the sizes...Anyone know of any second hand shaver shops? It might be a case of trying lots of similar 'figure of 8's'. Does the superglue and heatshrink tube seem workable? Would I damage the cable beyond repair if I tried this option?
